The Inescapable Reality of Trump

The photo above was taken in Los Angeles, during the Women’s March in January.

I think a lot about how this new administration has become an inescapable part of daily life — how the only time I don’t think about what the president is doing to our country is when I’m at the hospital with our patients. And I even think about it then, because of how the Trump administration wants to dismantle the Affordable Care Act and what kind of effect that will have on the people we care for.

Self-care! Take a break from the news! This is the argument I hear to maintain some semblance of sanity. But I don’t think willful ignorance is the answer.
